We've got a couple of inches of snow so far in Manteo and it's still coming down here at 7:50 am. The roads are covered so I'm not venturing out any further than I can walk! The local weather stations say it will turn to ice pellets soon. I'll try to get some pics up later. Take a look at the KDH weather cam from Hurricane Track:

Hey, isn't it pretty?!? For us northern transplants, this is decorator snow, and what could be better for a kids' treat than a sort-of snowy Saturday? If anybody ever gets up around here, I'll volunteer to find them a big plastic bag to slide on. We do, in fact, have a hill--a big 8-footer in the Colington Harbour park. Of course, it's a little wet at the bottom . . .

We've got family in Ashville & Boone, and they are getting real sonw--12-16 inches. But tomorrow it will be sunny and above freezing, so it ain't exactly a New England winter for them.

Stay warm & take pictures, everyone. And you folks to the north, hunker down & wait. I guarantee you, the weather will be great by late April.

It has been snowing here in central Va since about 3am don't ask why I was looking outside at this time but I was! We have several inches so far and it is still coming down! very fluffy though better then the last storm we got!
